MAHONING VALLEY HELL RAISER

« on: April 09, 2008, 01:24:22 PM »

GAME #9

TRIBE @ ANGELS
4-4              5-4

Paul Byrd vs Dustin Mosely
(0-0) 6.23 ERA   (0-0) 9.00 ERA

Indians: Byrd was uncharacteristically wild in his season debut against the A's on Friday night. He gave up five runs (three earned) on eight hits over 4 1/3 innings. He also walked two batters and hit two more. Last year, he led the Majors by issuing first-pitch strikes to 69.5 percent of batters he faced. But against the A's, Byrd threw first-pitch balls to 15 of 27 hitters. Byrd is 7-4 with a 4.23 ERA in 20 career appearances at Angel Stadium.

Angels: Moseley, filling in for injured starters John Lackey and Kelvim Escobar, struggled in his start against the Texas Rangers, yielding five earned runs in five innings while taking the loss. The righty will get a chance to redeem himself in Wednesday's matinee series finale against Cleveland, a team against whom he owns twice as many wins (two) as he does against any other club.

I've got a feeling this will be a high scoring game... unless Byrd finds the strikezone again if not it will be

Nice game thread Fireman!  2 thumbs up

Grady got us started off right with a hit and a steal but we couldn't bring him home.

Hopefully Byrd has a much better outing this time around.

Too bad, we couldn't get him home.  Peralta got a bad call on the second strike.

Yea, he can't seem to find the plate at all.  At least we got out of that inning without any more bleeding.
