Updated MLB Mock Draft
by InSowersITrust

I have updated the Indians 24/7 Mock Draft. There are a lot of changes this time including the Cleveland Indians pick.

29. Cleveland Indians- Josh Fields RHP Georgia? As a Cleveland Indians fan one thing is certain we do not have a real closer. In my first mock draft I had us taking Ryan Perry who has an arm but not much else. Josh Fields is a real closer with a closers mentality and good stuff as well. He throws a fastball in the 92-95 range with a knee buckling curve. He was drafted last year in the 2nd after a bad junior season but this year as a senior has improved great with a 0.36 ERA in 25 1/3 innings 46 K?s 16 walks with 14 saves. He has the closer mentality and since he is a college reliever he should move fast through the system. I hope he can turn into a Houston Street or Chad Cordero who make it to the majors very quickly and have great success. (Last Mock N/A)

Michaels to Pirates for PTBNL
by Nate

Jason Michaels who was DFA just a few days ago was traded to the Pirates for cash and player to be named later. The Indians are coving most of his salary but it's nice to actually get something for Michaels since we were liable for his salary regardless.

Obviously the left field platoon of Michaels and Dellucci wasn't working the way Wedge and Shapiro had hoped. Dellucci has been hitting a little bit of late but Michaels hitting only .207 with no power at all wasn't worth his spot on the team.

The Indians did the right thing in letting him go. The great news is that Francisco is back up with the team and looks like he's here for an extended stay. Which is good because in 18 at bats Francisco is hitting .389 with 3 RBI and a .977 OPS. That is a major upgrade over what were getting Jason Michaels.

Thanks for your service Jason, but it was time for you to go!
