Hey NJ I know this must upset you...
From Ken Rosenthal's Column
After Sabathia, the Indians' player drawing the most trade interest is third baseman Casey Blake, who leads the majors with a 1.281 OPS with runners in scoring position.
Blake, who turns 35 on Aug. 23, is coveted because of his ability to play first base and both outfield corners as well as third; he would be a good fit for teams such as the Dodgers, Mets and A's. Class AA third baseman Wes Hodges projects as the long-term replacement for Blake, who is a free agent at the end of the season.
Personally I would be happy if we could get something for Blake b/c it opens up 3B for Andy Marte to show what he can do... play around with Peralta or my personal favorite give it to Wes Hodges who is gonna be a great hitter who is consistently good with runners in scoring position for his first two pro years... he was a top ten pick before his injury in college and we plucked him in the second... I cannot wait to see him.
Besides Blake is a free agent at the end of the year and if we want him back as a utility player I'm sure he would be happy to re up with us.

I changed the name of my username b/c I'm afraid it was jinxing the real Jeremy Sowers so I'm trying this out for a while and see if his luck can improve.

If we traded to the Mets or Dodgers they would probably pick all of it up no biggie but Oakland we may have to twist their arm unless they give us a great prospect... I would love Gio Gonzalez so we can add a righty into the competition for a rotation spot next year.

Yeah a good righty pitcher is needed. I would like to see a trade for like Zito not alot would have to be given up but he has the potential to be the player he use to be.

I don't know, I don't like the Zito idea. He has a huge contract. Even if SF paid half we'd still be paying almost 9 million a year for a pitcher who isn't any better than Sowers or Laffey right now.

I think David Huff is a younger version of Zito... they had the same pitching coach in college and from what I've read they have comparable stuff as well.

I have heard he is compared to Tom Glavine. I am not saying we should get Zito but make a trade for a pitcher who is struggling just this year so the tribe wouldn't have to give up so much. Even though it would make sense to trade some of the players that are talked about on this forum I doubt they will be.

Every left hander who throws under 90 MPH is usually compared to Glavine

it will be interesting to see what happens with Casey Blake. it does seem he is drawing interest from teams and while he won't bring back any organizations top prospects deals for guys like Perez and Brousard that brought back Choo and Cabrera have worked out.
