From MLBTR....

According to Anthony Castrovince at MLB.com, the Indians have signed reliever Juan Rincon and infielder Tony Graffanino to minor league deals.

Rincon, 29, lost effectiveness in August of '06 and pretty much never recovered.  It's easy to try to tie his decline to his May '05 performance enhancing drug suspension, but he was solid for the rest of that season.

Graffanino, 35, is trying to work his way back from knee and ACL surgeries.

I always liked Graffanino and he could make a really good utility infielder after this year if we let Carroll walk

Rincon was a top notch reliever just a few years ago maybe a change of scenery is needed

I like them both. I just want to make sure that Graffanino wont get a shot before ACab in the majors.

I don't think he is supposed to be ready until a little a late summer... so I think he is supposed to be the replacement for either Marte if he is DFA or if we trade Blake considering I remember him playing 3B as his best position.

I don't mind Tony but I just hope he will get over his two knee operations. I am really punmped to get Rincon he is a great set up man, and getting out of that shitty dome of the Twins might be what he needs.

Over all I think it is a solid move

I always thought Tony G's main position at second base, but I may be wrong.. I'll look into it.

Yup, just looked... over 4000 MLB innings at 2nd. His second most innings at a position is 3rd with a little over 1000... 600 at short and 300 at 1st.

Career fielding percentage at 2nd of .981 and only .952 at 3rd base.

Personally, I'm ready to see what these guys have to offer us. I may be premature but this season looks like a wash anyway. Not giving up on the Tribe yet, After Casey's night last night I'd like to see what Ensburg could do for us. Don't get me wrong...Blake has been around a long time and I think the club would look a bit naked without him. But with Pronk and Vic gone we're already down to our underwear anyway.

With the Giants win yesterday, I have realized this team is just spinning their wheels this year. The tribe had a perfect oppurtunity to tie the game or win it and Kelly could't do anything but strike out I mean COME ON. When the STO announcers were talking about 30 or so losses with a one run deficit. That is a pill that should not have to be swallowed. With all of these injuries to big time players one has to wonder if this team will ever keep a spark going. Not very hopeful when there is no definite answer to the return of Carmona or Hafner. Just one of these players would help. I still think when the trade deadline hits, every Indians fan should be glued to the TV.

Well...another loss tonight. It just seems like we're stepping over dollars to pick up pennies. I think or longest winning streak has been five this season (that was with Hafner and Vic). That's pretty modest considering the offensive power we had last year with practically the same team. But we're all pretty much beating a dead horse here. I'm not ready to accept defeat yet but....damn it's hard to watch them lose. Especially since Sowers didn't have a bad start at all tonight.
