"It's that 10th man on the field" -Kenny Lofton

Since I was working during Saturdays game I did not get to catch our newest member of the tribe play. In fact I was pretty oblivious that we had even picked him up until early yesterday morning. If you did guess Im talking about the fine stud of a backup catcher Sal Fasano! With Victor still down and out we needed a solid backup catcher while Shop fills the role obviously. So last Thursday the Tribe traded with the Braves a player to be named later for their current AAA catcher Sal.

Now joining the tribe Sal has played on 10 major league teams. He is the next Joe Mauer at the tender at of 36 with his career .219 average. Although that may be disappointing his is an above average fielder and can actually call a pretty good game.

When he was out in Philadelphia out here in '06 the "Phans" started a group called "Sals Pals" where they all put on fake mustaches like Sals and came and sat up in the 400's section. They did this for a few players over the past few years - the Byrds Nest and the Wolf Pack to name others, but Sals Pals was by far the most popular. Despite his inability to hit Sal is known to be one of the most likeable and kind players in baseball today. He also always gives a consistent effort no matter the situation.

Yea, he didn't do much in Saturday's game.  He seems like a decent emergency pickup, but obviously no one who will be an impact player or anything.

Yeah, he made his typical Sal impact... 0 for 3 with 2 strikeouts...

I changed the name of my username b/c I'm afraid it was jinxing the real Jeremy Sowers so I'm trying this out for a while and see if his luck can improve.

Haha that would have been brilliant. I think fans would pour into the stadium to see that.
